Sodalities
What is a sodality?
It is a general name for a confraternity or pious association. The term was used already in
early Christian times for voluntary groups of the faithful who sought to work together with
like-minded people for the strengthening of their own religious commitment and advancing
the Kingdom of Christ to others.
Emmanuel Cathedral as a Catholic Church has numerous Sodalities that are devoted to a
variety of spiritual and corporal works of mercy.
Sodalities offer various contributions, including fostering devotion, promoting community, and providing opportunities for spiritual growth and service. They help individuals deepen their faith, serve the Church, and offer mutual support and prayer. Sodalities encourage active involvement in the Church's mission through various acts of service, such as outreach to the poor or participation in parish
activities by supporting church programmes and maintenance projects.
We have strong sodalities support one another through monthly meetings to share prayers
and share strategies for implementing the vision and mission of the Parish and to support
the church community experience spiritual growth and to support them to deepen their
faith.
Parishioners are invited to join the Sodality because they serve as structures for praying and
praying for one another.
